5 Low-sugar fruits you can feast on
Snack time is everyone's favourite time, but most of the time we tend to snack on unhealthy foods. Instead of picking up a packet of chips the next time, pick up a fruit instead.
Here's a list of low-sugar fruits that taste amazing and also can keep your sugar levels in check:
- Strawberries
Not only do they taste great, but they also contain very less sugar ~5 grams of sugar per every 100 grams of fruit! Additionally, strawberries are packed with fibre, vitamins and minerals that cleanse your body and supply it with required nutrition. The next time you sit down to have a bowl of dull oats, add some fresh strawberries to taste and good health.
2. Kiwis
Exotic and extremely tasty, kiwis also have low sugar content, making them the perfect fruit to eat if you're watching your sugar levels. Kiwis contain only 6 grams of sugar per individual fruit! What's more, they're packed with fibre and vitamin C to supplement your daily nutrition requirement.
3. Avocado
This fruit (yes, it is a fruit!) is naturally low in sugar and is one of the favourite fruits if you're watching your weight and sugar levels. Avocados are packed with healthy fats, but only about a gram or so of sugar. If you don't like it plain, make guacamole with added tomatoes and vegetables and use it as a delicious dip with carrots!
4. Watermelon
This fruit is everyone's favourite during summer, but even though the fruit tastes sweet; it's low in sugar content- 100 grams of watermelon contains only about 6 grams of sugar, and the high water content ensures that the calorie count is low/cube. It's a win-win fruit!
5. Orange
A regular orange has ~12 g of sugar, and it is rich in vitamin C as well.
Consuming these fruits on a daily basis in moderation than sugar-loaded juices or carbonated drinks can improve your all round health!
