Are you looking for a free and easy guide onhow to write popular blog posts? Let’s get down to business to talk about seven crafts to write a blog post.
  1. Planning
Writing blog post could be a long process from the seed of idea to finally post. You might not write a single word after sitting for several hours or even days. So it’s important to spend several hours planning and thinking about your post before you actually write it. As an old saying goes, sharpening the axe will not interfere with the cutting of firewood. That might include topic you select, the outline, style and languages and so on.
  1. Topic
First, you need to choose a topic that interests you and comply with your blog. If you are bored with the topic you choose, so are your followers. You also need to have a clear understanding of your followers. What do they want to learn and will they resonate with you?
  1. Outline and headline
An outline doesn’t need to be detailed. It is just a rough guide to make sure you stick to your topic and don’t ramble on and on. Writers tend to ramble and repeat themselves. That might really annoys readers. The purpose of outline is to make sure you know what you plan to write and to organize the overall structure.
My outline: leads bringing out the theme >one or two transiting sentences> exemplifying>taking conclusion with one or two sentences. This is for your reference only
Headline should be striking and attracting eyeballs. You should be as specific as possible. You can decide your headline before starting to write or you can work out a headline fitting your blog post after ending the article.
  1. Style and language
Express yourself genuinely, no need stick to one style. I hardly use figures of speech, like “ruby complexion”. Usually, I write with plain words because I’m a science student who doesn’t have rather wide vocabulary. Nevertheless, my articles still are being viewed by much more people. It shows popular blog post does not really need flowery language or ornate diction. The most important thing is to express your idea.
  1. Length and use images
We live in a fast-paced world and it’s an age of quick reading. A blog post shouldn’t be too lengthy. It is recommended to be read through in 10 minutes. Writing a blog is totally different than traditional writing. By breaking up large blocks of texts, using images would make your blog post seems much easier to read and to scan. Many people scan a blog rather than reading word by word. A well-chosen image can help lighten the tone and draws close thedistancebetween the blogger and the readers. That’s why images are essential part of your blog post. And images can be all charts, tables, diagrams and any other visual pictures, even gif animation.
  1. Ending
Writing is hard, ending is even harder. End the blog post as soon as you have already make all the points you want. Don’t repeat words or phrases you already used. Normally just use several sentences to end things up and conclude your idea. Usually a quotation would do the best work. Find a famous remark to restate your idea.
  1. How often you are going to post
In fact, it’s no need to post on daily basis. Once you start to write a blog, you attract certain group of followers. It really depends on your readership. For example, most of my readers are young people around 20. Page views itself will decrease in a way when they have tests or the schools break up for the holidays. Please understand that readers prefer blog quality to quantity. It’s the content that matters!
And now blog content is increasingly similar and homogenized. I hope everyone can write blog leading to thinking and evoking a strong echo in people’s heart. After reading your blog, everything becomes clear at once and people are enlightened with perfect wisdom. This kind of posts is most easily forwarded.
